CSA Policies

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a relationship between farmers and members of the community. When you sign up for the Blackbranch Farm CSA, you're paying in advance for your share of the farm's harvest for the season. In return for your support, we're excited to grow the very best, freshest vegetables we can for you!

When you join our CSA, you're agreeing to these terms:

  • The season is 20 weeks of fresh, Certified Naturally Grown produce, starting in May and ending in September. Our target start week is the week of May 11th.
     

  • The share price is $ for a large share, home delivery (8 items a week), $ for a large share, on farm pickup (8 items a week), $ for a small share, home delivery (4 items a week), or $ for a small share, on farm pickup (4 items a week). You also have the ability to purchase extra items each week if you like.
     

  • When you sign up, you're agreeing to pay for your share and submit your payments on time. You can pay the full amount up front or pay a 50% deposit at sign-up and then the final 50% due May 2025. The payment options are check, cash, PayPal (2% processing fee) or Venmo (2% processing fee). PayPal or Venmo fees will be billed at the end of the CSA season. Checks preferred.
     

  • You have the ability to customize your box before we harvest it. On Saturdays, we will email you a newsletter that specifies what items are available that week, and you'll be able to login and swap items in or out from the full list of available options that week. You'll have until Sunday at 9:00 p.m. to make changes. If you don't make any changes, then you'll receive the farmers choice box.
     

  • If you pickup on farm, you are responsible for picking up your share every week, or having someone else to pick up your share for you if you are unable to make you selected pickup location and time. Any shares not picked up will be donated.
     

  • If you're going out of town or unable to pick up your share, please notify us no later than the Monday before your pick-up or delivery. We will hold your box that week, and add that weeks share’s value to your account. You can spend down your balance over time by adding extra items to your weekly shares. Any unused credits from the week(s) prior will not rollover, only if a full delivery hold is placed will credits from that week rollover. Unused credits at the end of the season are nonrefundable.

  • In an effort to try and reduce single use waste, the CSA will be delivered to you in a reusable plastic tote bin. You must return the weeks prior bin at the time of your CSA share pickup or delivery. Unreturned/lost bins will result in an $18 fee per lost/unreturned share bin.
     

  • Cancellations: We understand circumstances change. If you need to cancel your subscription, email us at blackbranchfarm@gmail.com. If you cancel your subscription after the first delivery/pickup, we will issue a refund on a pro-rated basis.
     

  • Refunds: if you are dissatisfied with the CSA for any reason and would like to cancel, then we will issue a refund on a pro-rated basis.
